Kepler Vandalized!
Two Lancers were caught vandalizing the Kepler building!
Lancers Axon and Wildstyle were detained earlier this week after they were caught vandalizing Kepler’s Theoretical Science complex. The duo was found after midnight, painting a mural of a samurai skewering the Kepler logo on a katana. Alongside were phrases such as “seek to understand” and “look underneath the surface”.
Axon has been an employee of Kepler for years, often working in direct opposition to the Lancer Association. It is unclear why he would take action against his own employer. When questioned, Axon stated that he was “tired of Kepler pushing him around” and that the public needs to “take action”.
He said the mural represented how he felt about Kepler’s actions of late. “If people knew the truth about Kepler, they wouldn’t be so keen on arresting me. What we did should be celebrated!” Axon was escorted out of the room before he could provide further details on what he meant about Kepler.
His accomplice, Wildstyle, pleaded innocent in the matter. She was under the impression that Kepler had hired her to paint on commission. “I didn’t know what we were doing was wrong!” Wildstyle stated. “Kepler hired us. Axon told me it would be my first big gig!”
Further investigation shows that Axon and Wildstyle have a mentor/apprentice style relationship. Based on Wildstyle’s claim, she was hired alongside Axon to paint a mural for Kepler, but no such record was found. In his interrogation, Axon admitted to deceiving Wildstyle but ensured his intentions were pure. “I thought the experience would be good for her. All great artists are controversial!”
When asked further about Axon, Melody told reporters she is grateful for Axon’s mentorship. “He’s the reason I’m an artist! I’m sure this is just one big misunderstanding. …It has to be.” Reporters say she seemed unsure of her conclusion, but quickly followed up in a lighter manner. “I’ve never been arrested before. This must make me look pretty punk!”
Many civilians support Axon and Wildstyle’s rebellious mural, especially with the renewed rumours concerning Kepler’s ethical infringements. Conversely, the majority of Acme’s elite disapprove, believing that Wildstyle is bringing a bad name to Acme's upper class.
After all, Wildstyle is the daughter of the Lovelock family -- a wealthy family of doctors and lawyers. Once well respected in the community, it appears Melody’s graffiti offensives have tarnished the family’s reputation on more than one occasion. Mr. Lovelock, head of the Lovelock firm, has since issued an apology on behalf of his daughter.
The debacle has reignited public concern for Kepler’s operations and investigations are underway. More answers to come as the situation unfolds.
