Tidal Fury Holds Record-Breaking Concert
Tidal Fury packed the beaches of Uxmal last night!
Tidal Fury packed the beaches of Uxmal last night with a record-breaking crowd. Over 164,000 pop rock fans listened, danced, cried, and sang along as the band performed on a platform floating in the surf line.
Tidal Fury is notorious for materializing onstage, apparently out of thin air. Tour organizers are close-lipped about whether the band, all of whom are Lancers, are somehow using a Shard portal to reach the stage, or if it is just a special effect. The band's spokeslizard, Kokomo Handfast, was coy about the question, saying only, “If you knew, wouldn’t that take the fun out of it?”
Tidal Fury’s newest singer, Skylla Ula Manta, of the Mariana Shard, made a surprise appearance during the second song, rising from the ocean on the back of a ten-meter-long sea dragon to sing her hit ballad “Devastation.”
The show, a fundraiser for the Marianai and their Chelae-devastated cities, broke the record for concert attendees in Balamtok. The previous record was 112,500, held by singer/songwriter Angelina Joanni.
Headliner Ning Fu stated, “It was a thrill to perform in front of so many of our Balamtok fans. They have a special energy I so love to connect with. I love all my audiences, but Balamtok is special.” Ning Fu is also known by her Lancer name Aura.
Skylla joined the band just three months ago, after performing an impromptu duet with Aura at the Sanctuary Stadium in the Kef Shard. The remaining bandmates are Tatiana Milevska ("Hollowpoint") on guitar, Nanae Lopes ("Nitro") on keyboards, and Yan Dao ("Kismet") on percussion.
Having a band of Lancers handy proved lucky for the Kef Shard last week; the band was able to help authorities control and eliminate a Parasite outbreak and investigate its origin.
