You want to hear a story from me? Well, okay. The elders at home told so many stories that I can't even remember all of them. They always went on and on about spiritual arts and ancient scriptures. Boooring! The only fun I ever had was when my father took me to the Dongtian Peak. And yes, it's the same peak from the shard we call "Dongtian". I played there a lot as a child.
Oh, oh, oh! Speaking of that, many mysterious legends are tied to the Dongtian Peak! The creepiest one is within the "Cangfeng Pavilion". There, a cursed weapon called "Nightmare" lays sealed. It's said to be a mysterious weapon left over from a great war. What "great war"? Ha, that's a well-kept secret by the Tianxuan Society! Aura, don't look at me like that! I'm not part of the Tianxuan Society, so I don't need to follow their rules of secrecy! Listen up!
"Yong" and its surrounding shards discovered glunite long ago. The concept of spiritual cultivation, following the way, and using strange magics are records left by ancient people using glunite. However, studying glunite is still a science. As long as underlying patterns can be found, mastering "magics" and wielding glunite isn't that difficult. Soon, different factions began fighting over glunite. This eventually escalated into a war between superpowered glunite beings (you know, "Embers"?). In that war, countless treasures and techniques were lost, and vast amounts of glunite resources were destroyed. After the war, the survivors established the "Tianxuan Society," but no one can clearly explain how the war ended. I believe that the legend of Dongtian Peak is the truest account.
It is said that during the war, a rift suddenly opened in the sky. It looked like a blood-red eye, staring down at the Embers. From the eye, several deformed monsters emerged, baring their fangs and claws. The monsters resembled evolved shrimp and crabs, and their shells were extremely hard. Today, we know these as the Chelae. They were impervious to Yong weapons, and their power was formidable. A single pinch from a giant crab could turn an Ember to glunite. The previously opposing factions were forced to unite against the external threat. A fierce battle broke out between the Embers and the Chelae. When it seemed like all was lost, the Chelae seemed to hear some kind of call emanating from the rift. They flew back up and the Chelae, along with the rift, vanished. The surviving Embers realized that the threat from other Shards was greater than they had ever anticipated. They knew nothing about it and had no way to defend against it.
They spent years researching the remains of the Cheale, but they learned very little. Scared and desperate to act, a researcher called "Hao" stole a piece of the monster's remains and took it to the Dongtian Peak. Hao asked the sages to forge the Chelae shell into a weapon. He hoped to use the blade to fend off enemies and become a hero to Dongtian. After the blade was forged, it turned demonic. Those who wielded the weapon became influenced by its lingering evil power. Instead of becoming Dongtian's hero, Hao brought pain and destruction until the blade was finally wrenched from his grasp. The weapon was sealed in the Canfeng Pavillion, waiting for someone truly capable to control it. For years, the evil blade watched over Dongtian peak with its malevolent eye, seeking another victim to fall prey to its whispers.
Rumors say that this blade ended up in Ghost Town. By the time it was discovered, Ghost Town had already become a parasite paradise. No one knows if the evil blade attracted the paraistes or if the evil blade was somehow able to open a new rift all over again...
