The following issues will be decided by ritual combat in the Pakal the Great Arena this Spring.
Akbal 2 (Spring Festival)
Ah'k'ux will battle Buluc Chabtan in honor of the god Chaac Uayab Xoc for the proposition: "Redfish quotas in the Nahá shall be expanded."
Akbal 3
Pich will battle Ah'k'ux in honor of the god Ek Chuaj for the proposition: "We should offer peace terms to Chinchaysuyu."
Akbal 9
Ixchel will battle Buluc Chabtan in honor of the god Hun-Ixim for the proposition: "The Master of the Fields shall authorize genetically modified corn to be planted in the communal fields." NOTE: Due to Buluc Chabtan's injuries, Zipacna will battle against the proposition.
Akbal 13
Ah'k'ux will battle Zipacna in honor of the god Nonochacyuma for the proposition: "The Zoning Board shall allow the ruins of Yaxchildan to be cleared for low-income housing."
K'an 1
Ixchel will battle Pich in honor of the god Kukulkan for the proposition: "20% of the school budget shall be re-allocated to repair of the Temple of Kukulkan."
K'an 5
A gladiator to be named will battle Ixchel in honor of the god Kukulkan for the proposition "The High Priest Zamna shall be allowed to activate the experimental physics device."
K'an 7 (Hat Day)
Tun will battle Xamanek in honor of the god Vucub-Caquix for the proposition, "A new ekranoplan port shall be built at the mouth of the Altamaha?"
Chikchan 4
ARENA CLOSED FOR SUMMER RENOVATIONS
Prices: General Admission 12 Teo.
Seniors 7 Teo.
Students 6 Teo.
Youth (12-16 years old) 5 Teo.
Children (7 to 11 years old) 4 Teo.
Children under 7 years old are not permitted in the arena except for nursing infants in the arms of their mothers.
Group rates on request.
Unless otherwise noted, all ritual combats in the arena take place at midday sharp, regardless of weather.
