- Aesir
In the survivor descriptions, Aesir is a vast and beautiful world, and a utopia. Much of its land is covered by winter's ice and snow, and its harsh, frozen terrain has fostered resilient and diverse lifes. Historical records even mention a gigantic winged creature resembling the "dragon" from human mythology, a species that has only gradually disappeared from Aesir in recent decades.
Aesir is rich in mining resources, with massive drilling operations scattered across the land. Today, as glunite resources are gradually depleting, the stability and development of a city heavily rely on the quality of its local drilling operations. "Tundra" and "Yord" are typical examples of the Aesir city-mining dependence system.
- Culture
Due to its unique living environment, the people of Aesir engage in many interesting cultural activities. Aesir people are naturally generous, enjoying combat and drinking. Their love for alcohol permeates every aspect of their lives. Although synthetic livers capable of alcohol metabolism have been introduced, the most popular options are not those with the best alcohol-reducing functions, but rather those that maintain a "pleasantly tipsy" feeling.
The Aesir people are touched by the gods and hold the Lancers in high respect. The living rights of the Lancers are prioritized, with no harsh institutional restrictions imposed on them. They are the patriarchs of Aesir and represent the core military and technological power; however, in the current era of peace, the research advantages offered by their special bodies are given greater importance.
- Glunite
Aesir began studying glunite in the early stages of its civilization's development. With abundant glunite resources found beneath the surface, glunite mining gradually became the focus of Aesir. The rapid advancement of glunite technology has made long-distance energy supply no longer a problem, allowing the Aesir people to establish weather research stations in many remote and dangerous areas, and to control the climate and avoid disasters through a network of weather stations.
Biocompatible synthetic materials were developed early on. Aesir's mechanical prosthetic medicine has reached a high level, and mechanical prosthetics are also used to heal those who fail to become Lancers, repairing their glunite-affected limbs. At the same time, due to the extremely high casualty rates during the transformation of Lancers, some candidates require significant mechanical prosthetic modifications during surgery to withstand the large amounts of glunite materials.
Due to the long-term and extensive extraction and consumption of glunite, Aesir civilization had already begun to face a glunite depletion crisis before the Smash-Up. It was in an effort to resolve this crisis that Aesir gradually and panic-stricken stepped into the fate of the Smash-Up.
